Holiday Open House – December 7 and 8, 2024
Visit our Fasig and Keath colonial homes (30-32 East High Street), the Harry Shearer Heritage Center (88 South Grant Street), and the Model Railroad Display on December 7 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM and December 8, from 12:30 – 4:30 PM.
Explore the decorated Colonial German houses and listen to the whispers of Independence in the colonial winter of 1774. Maybe Der Belsnickle will visit. There will be light refreshments. Mike Gerhard, author, will be selling and signing his book Gentle Giant, the Story of Jack Fasig.
At the Harry B Shearer Heritage Center, you can experience Baron Stiegel’s Christmas wish fulfillment and the Act that freed him from debtor’s prison. Explore the museum and see tall case clocks made in Manheim in the 18th century, Civil War-era rifles, artifacts from the Danner Home collection, and redware and wood-carved ornaments made by local artisans.
At the railroad station (210 South Charlotte Street), our Stiegel Valley Model Railroad will be running, and we will be selling fresh roasted peanuts!
There is no fee for admission at any of our locations.
