3rd Sunday in Manheim Event

Manheim Historical Society will be having a “Grand Re-Opening” to showcase our Stiegel collection of stove plates, our cannon stove, and beautiful glassware on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 1:00 – 4:00 at our railroad station – 210 South Charlotte Street in Manheim. Some of our Stiegel glass pieces were featured in an article in the January-February 2023 edition of “Early American” magazine and you will be able to see some of those pieces in our display cases.

Also, that afternoon, Dan Snyder, one of our volunteers, will give an interesting and informative presentation on Stiegel’s life at 2:00.

Did you know that Henry William Stiegel was born in the month of May in the year 1729?  The Society will also be serving birthday cake (while it lasts) on May 21 at the railroad station to celebrate Stiegel’s 294th birthday!

Other activities at the railroad complex – the model railroad room will be open, tours of the train station, and weather permitting, we will give rides on our Birney trolley.

Our colonial log houses at 30-32 East High Street will be open for free tours from 1:00 – 4:00.

All activities are free!
